Feed Your Wallet, Not Your Mouth
Poker rooms tend to offer a wide variety of benefits to their players. Not only do poker rooms offer players the chance to enjoy the game with likeminded individuals, but the more high stakes pokerrooms will also offer tangible benefits to their players. Typically poker players can order free drinks and snacks from the bar to enjoy during the game. While it may be tempting to order a large beer and a bowl of peanuts, think twice before you bring food to the poker table.
While a drink at the table tends not to have severe repercussions on the game, besides lowering your inhibitions that is, food can be disastrous. Just image what were to happen if you accidently spilt your bowl of peanuts on the table. Food would go everywhere and bring the game to a screeching halt. Even if you didn’t manage to upset your bowl, your hands would still be streaked with the grease and salt off of the peanuts. Everyone has to handle the cards after you, which means that everyone will come in contact with the remnants of your snack. This is just not polite behavior. Keep the poker table food free if you want to be remembered as a polite player who is considerate of others.
